Founder & CEO

Jeff Vittone is the Founder and CEO of Prime Defense, bringing over 30 years of extensive experience in federal contracting, defense systems, and executive leadership. As a retired U.S. Air Force veteran and seasoned corporate executive, Jeff has successfully led teams of contracting professionals and managed advanced technology programs across multiple Department of Defense (DoD) agencies.

Throughout his career, Jeff has demonstrated a unique blend of hands-on operational expertise and strategic leadership. His work in various Defense Agencies has positioned him as a key contributor to high-level, cross-functional working groups within the DoD, where he played an integral role in shaping acquisition and contract systems, overseeing business processes, and managing defense business systems at the enterprise level. Additionally, his time instructing government contracting courses for the Defense Logistics Agency further highlights his depth of knowledge in federal acquisition strategies and systems.

With a comprehensive background as a warfighter, contracting officer, program manager, and corporate executive, Jeff possesses a rare, wide-ranging perspective on defense and federal contracting. His leadership at Prime Defense is reinforced by this breadth of experience, ensuring the company delivers innovative solutions tailored to the unique needs of its clients in the defense sector.

Jeff holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Federal Acquisitions and is certified at DAWIA Level III in Contracting by the Department of Defense.

Chief Growth Officer

Sonja Roberts serves as the Chief Growth Officer for Prime Defense, where she is spearheading the company’s and strategic initiatives. She is focused on identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities, driving market penetration, and building new relationships.

Sonja brings a decade of engineering experience to the table, offering deep insights into how develop and realize requirements for their mission needs. Transitioning from engineering, she has accumulated an additional decade of diverse experience in Strategic Planning, Business Development (both domestic and international), and Capture Management, primarily in the defense and aerospace sector – securing wins totaling more than $1.5 Billion. This extensive background has equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of mergers and acquisitions, market analysis, pipeline development, competitive intelligence, and government RFP strategies, all of which contribute to her success in securing new opportunities. Sonja’s experience brings a deep understanding of both the strategic and operational aspects of growth and equips her to navigate complex challenges and seize opportunities in a dynamic market landscape.

Sonja excels in guiding cross-functional teams to achieve their objectives and drive company growth. She holds a degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and is certified in Foreign Military Sales (FMS).
